From the supplier: The FDA has proposed that tobacco product advertising and promotion be restricted. The FDA rule, which is aimed at curbing underage smoking, has already been approved by the Clinton administration. It specifies that promotional giveaways such as T-shirts, hats and gym bags displaying brand names would be banned. Another restriction requires outdoor ads to be barred within 1,000 feet of schools or playgrounds. First Amendment questions arise when the advertising of legal products is restricted.
