Basic Essentials 3-Quart Polished Pressure Cooker by Pressure Cookers Price: $28.88 Updated on 4-14-2013.
This 3-quart pressure cooker is constructed of high-quality aluminum and designed to promote efficient cooking. Under pressure, the internal temperature rises above the normal boiling point of water, causing roasts, stews, soups and vegetables to cook faster. The shorter cooking time saves energy as well as more of the nutrients and flavors in the food. The pressurized steam tenderizes meats naturally, leaving them moist and succulent. Aluminum has high heat-conductivity and distributes heat evenly. Reader Reviews Since purchasing the cooker I have only used it about 3 or 4 times.. But I haven't had any problems with it at all. It seals and holds pressure just like it should.Haven't had any problems cleaning it at all. Yes aluminum pans discolor. That's normal. Its not stainless steel. Wouldn't of been so inexpensive if it had been stainless steel. It works just fine.I have another cooker, made just like it, only sold under a different name. It was bought for me for Christmas afew years ago. Get replacement parts from the same place. Its an 8 qt. cooker.I bought this 3 qt. because now its just my husband and myself that I am cooking for. It holds more then enough for us.The first day I used it I cooked Ham and Great Northern Beans. I always cook my ham bone first, get the broth good and flavored before I ever add the beans. I put the ham bone on under pressure for about 30 minutes or so.. Let the pan cool down in cool water, then I added the beans and put the pressure back on. Let them cook for awhile, then I cooled it down again so I could check the amount of liquid, then added more water and resealed again and put it back under pressure.I didn't have any problems getting the pan to reseal. I cooled the cooker down 3 times that day. Not one problem. So if you are looking for an inexpensive pressure cooker that works just fine, then I recommend you get one of these.I have also cooked chicken in it without any problems. I cook enough chicken to use in several dishes when I cook it. Didn't have any problem with the cooker.Plenty of room in the kettle to cook several pounds of chicken.Pressure cookers are great for tenderizing tough cuts of meat, they cut down on cooking time and the food tastes great..Have fun cooking and enjoy the time you save using the pressure cooker.
