As summer winds down to a crisp autumn towards the freeze of winter, outdoor activities are exchanged for indoor ones. Why forsake the delicious tastes of freshly grilled foods? Appreciate and enjoy them all year with the Breville 800GRXL Die-Cast Indoor BBQ and Grill. The Grill's arms are die-cast from molten aluminum, while the body is wrapped in high-grade, brushed stainless steel for ultimate durability and performance, and a refined finish. The 184-sq. inch professional-grade cooking plates are covered with non-stick Quantanium, blended with titanium to resist scratching and wear. The surface is completely food safe, allows cooking without oil or butter, and is incredibly easy to clean. Dual plate design enables you to cook everything from eggs to steak, with authentic BBQ results. The top plate can be adjusted to six pre-set heights. On the lower settings, this unique patented feature reduces the weight pressing upon more delicate foods like fish or vegetables. The higher settings are ideal for making open melt sandwiches or heating pizzas or breads, all but eliminating the need for a toaster oven. So make it more enjoyable to be home for the holidays and make every day special with the 800GRXL indoor grill from Breville. Reader Reviews This Breville grill is an excellent substitute for an outdoor grill. Its huge surface area is comparable to that of a small barbeque, and makes it possible to cook multiple portions simultanously. We have used this (as a closed grill) for steaks, hamburgers, panini, chicken, and fish steaks, and they all come out great; it seems that most things you could do in a frying pan turn out infinitely better on this grill. Nothing sticks. We have not yet tried using the grill opened flat, but I assume the really even heating of this appliance would make for great pancakes. The only downside here is how difficult this thing is to clean. The plates are not removable, so you have to use a wet sponge, paper towel, etc., with a little soap and water. The ridged plate is particularly annoying to wipe. After about 15 minutes of messing with it, the paper towels still show brown greasy residue, so it seems best to just accept that the surface is never going to be completely clean. It gets so hot that germs are probably a non-issue anyway, and I'm sure too much scrubbing is bad for the non-stick coating regardless. Be sure to leave the drip tray in when you clean it to catch the soapy runoff. I've noticed that there is now a similar model available with removable plates, so that might be worth looking into.
